Michael Klyde
Michael Klyde has a deeply rooted background in all things automotive. Building scale model kits at the age of 5, his first engine at 16 and beginning a technician career in the industry at age 18, his work history includes DeLorean Motor Company, Sears Service Centers, and Avis Car Rental. Technician Training development and R/D support at Hitachi Automotive Products, Isuzu Motors America, Mitsubishi Motors America and technical training development for Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Kia, Hyundai, Audi, Suzuki Les Schwabb, and others. Currently a full-time automotive technology professor at Cypress College and coordinator for the Toyota T-TEN program, he also has an enormous passion for student success and the industry. He was selected as Outstanding Automotive Instructor 2021 by the California Automotive Teachers Association. Mike is also an author of two automotive textbook titles for CDX and has a small classic car collection. He can often be seen around southern California driving a vintage vehicle and participating in car club events and national shows. Education includes a BA in Vocational Education and MA in Occupational Studies from California State University Long Beach.
