It is my pleasure to welcome you to Cypress College Nursing Program and introduce myself to you. I have taught for several years as a nursing professor at Cypress College. My nursing experience includes being a Registered Nurse for over 25 years. I have developed my nursing practice in various areas including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Oncology, Gastrointestinal Lab, Step-Down Unit, however the majority of my current nursing practice has been in Critical Care.

My passion in nursing teaching came from when I worked as a mentor and preceptor to nursing students and new graduate nurses, and saw how the students matured in integrating new insights and knowledge; thus, applying learned skills as they delivered safe quality care to patients. My goal is to provide each of you with a positive learning environment, which allows for the opportunity to transition what you have learned in the classroom into the clinical setting efficiently. I strongly believe in safe practice as this directly influences patient outcomes; therefore, I will not only provide each of you with guidance but also support and encourage you as we take this journey together. As you may have already realized, the nursing program can be very challenging and demanding, but it likewise brings you much satisfaction and fulfillment as you dedicate endless amounts of time and effort in helping sick individuals during the most difficult times of their lives.

I am excited and looking forward to working with all of you and guiding you in becoming a great nurse. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at CHoang@cypresscollege.edu. I will respond to your messages within 24 hours from Monday-Friday.
