Anna Cherie Gentry is a registered dental hygienist and professor of the Dental Hygiene Program at Cypress College since 2018. She has 20 years of experience in the field of dentistry and is passionate about teaching. Cherie Gentry initially earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and a multiple subject teaching credential from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. After teaching high school Spanish she entered the dental field as a dental assistant and soon earned her associate in science degree in Dental Hygiene from Cerritos College. As a practicing dental hygienist, she obtained a Master of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Idaho State University.

She teaches courses that include clinical dental hygiene, medically complex and special needs care, dental specialties, and pharmacology. Her research interests include educational insights on dental implant maintenance which was published in the Journal of Dental Hygiene. Cherie Gentry is committed to life-long learning, evidence-based decision making and providing compassionate care.
