Students Find Job Prospects at 2023 Career Fair

The Career and Technical Education Division hosted a Career Fair on April 5, with more than 70 companies presenting job and career opportunities to Cypress College students on campus. An estimated 400 students came to Gateway Plaza to talk to employers, learn about Career Planning Center resources, and get professional head shots.

A line of Career Fair information tables have students in front of each one.

Human resource representatives in industries ranging from auto repair and manufacturing, to education, to health care, to hospitality shared information and job openings with students who stopped by their tables. Companies such as Costco, Cypress School District, Forest Lawn, Hyatt, Hyundai, Marriott, Walt Disney Company, and YMCA offered giveaways and interactive displays, highlighting their professional benefits.

Leading up to the event, the Career Planning Center organized several preparation workshops. They provided information on how to navigate a career fair, including attire and resume resources. Additionally, they introduced their newest benefit, the Career Closet, which uses donations to provide one professional outfit per student per year.
