Is Taking a Language Class Worth It?

Studying a language can open doors to many careers and opportunities. Give yourself a wide perspective of our diverse world! And it’s fun! We have in-person, hybrid, online, and Zoom classes.

What about transfer credits?

All foreign language 101, 102, 203, and 204 classes are transfer-level credit courses (UC/CSU, AA, GE).

What about certificates?

We offer foreign language certificates of achievement for elementary level and intermediate level.

Which language should I choose?

You don’t have to choose just one!

Spanish — Learn California’s most spoken language after English. Use it to travel all around Latin America and Spain. Since Spanish is all around us, it’s also easy to practice close to home with neighbors, friends, and coworkers.
Spanish for Spanish Speakers — Study with Spanish-speaking students just like you. Enroll in Spanish 201 to improve your skills in spoken and written academic Spanish, discover literary greats of the Spanish-speaking world, and learn the secrets of written accent marks.
French — Learn the international language of the culinary arts, diplomacy, fashion, and film. Become a Francophone and connect with a global community that extends across six continents.
Japanese — Study fun and exciting cultural topics like: Japanese food, Manga, Anime, J Pop, fashion, etc. Plus, over 100 jobs opening in Orange County require Japanese language skills or knowledge about Japan. we offer JAPN 101, 102, 203, 204, 201 (Kanji course), 100 & 200 (conversation courses), a fun Japanese Culture Club, free Japanese tutoring, and free textbooks for all Japanese courses!
Chinese — Study Mandarin and you’ll be able to speak with over 1 billion people in the world. And guess what? Mandarin has no conjugations or tenses, so it’s not as hard to learn as you might think.
