Sonography Program Among Best in State
Cypress College’s Diagnostic and Medical Sonography program was recently listed in the Top 5 of California sonography schools. Best Universities ranked the DMS program as No. 3 in the state based on data from U.S. Department of Education National Center for Education Statistics survey, CollegeScorecard.gov, BLS.gov, and Payscale.com.

DMS Program Director Nancy Corrales says she and the faculty pride themselves on providing students with a quality education designed to prepare students with the competitive skills needed to confidently enter the job market. The camaraderie, she adds, is also key to the program.
“We promote a supportive culture that empowers our students to pursue their path to purpose,” Corrales said. “We have exceptional students, and their success is our success; we are a family. It is always an honor to receive acknowledgement for our excellent program.”
The Cypress College DMS program offers a wide variety of skill-building opportunities, including in the areas of clinical training, abdomen sonography, pathology and small parts, OB/GYN sonography, and sonography physics. It prepares students for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography examination and for employment in a hospital or clinical setting.
The program’s pass rate is regularly 100 percent on the ARDMS examination, with a post-graduation employment rate of 100 percent. The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Allied Health Education Programs.
